Photographing President Carter

As I have been wrapping up production of my book, I still have some photographs that I need to grab to go along with the content I have covered. One of those was a photograph of Georgia’s only President: Jimmy Carter. I received special permission to attend his Sunday school class at Maranatha Baptist Church down in Plains where I had a reserved seat right up front, giving me plenty of opportunities to capture photos of him at a location that embodies his compassion, spirituality, and overall humanity. It was moving, memorable, and well worth the long drive and 4:30 AM alarm. If we had more human beings on the planet like this man, it would be a much happier place.
