About Chris Greer

Chris is an Emmy-nominated television producer, award-winning photographer, best-selling author, and professor with a passion for capturing and sharing the beauty of the world through images and storytelling.

He is the creator, executive producer, and co-host of View Finders, a nationally broadcast television series now distributed by American Public Television and airing on PBS and the CREATE channel. Blending photography, adventure, and education, the show follows him and his co-host, Paul as they explore breathtaking locations while weaving in elements of science, history, and ecology. Along the way, they bring viewers into their process—capturing stunning imagery, uncovering hidden stories, and celebrating the natural world.

View Finders has received multiple Emmy nominations, and Chris and his team have also produced several standalone television specials, including The Haunting of the Eagle Tavern and Precision Agriculture: Farming for Our Future. He is currently producing several documentaries and has several other creative projects in development.

Visual Arts: A Lifelong Passion

Chris’s creative journey began in 1992 when his father handed him a fully manual Pentax K1000—a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. Over the past three decades, he developed his media abilities, working hard to excel in both photography and cinematic videography.

His still photography has taken him across the globe—from the landscapes of Australia and Italy to the coastlines, forests, and mountains of the American South. His images have appeared in national publications, marketing campaigns, and gallery exhibitions. He has worked with clients across the United States and beyond, bringing their vision to life with compelling imagery and storytelling.

He has also photographed prominent figures, including the late President Jimmy Carter, and he continues to showcase his work in galleries throughout the Southeast.

Chris strives to be a cinematic videographer with an eye for movement, emotion, and story. His video portfolio includes short films, branded content, commercials, and documentaries. His work has been selected for film festivals and his commercials have aired on major platforms like Hulu.

He has collaborated with top industry brands like F-Stop Gear and Sigma Lenses, and has presented at prestigious events including Imaging USA and the B&H BILD Expo. Chris works to seamlessly transition between still and motion content—and to elevate both with artistry and technical expertise.

Published Author

In 2018, Chris signed his first book deal with Connecticut-based Globe Pequot. The result was Georgia Discovered: Exploring the Best of the Peach State, published in 2020. Chris had full creative control over the project—writing all the text and shooting over 250 original photographs. The book was a best-seller on Amazon, is now in its second printing, and has introduced his work to a wide national and international audience.

Building on its success, Chris released Naturally Georgia in 2022. This hardback photography book showcases the state’s most beautiful natural scenes through his lens and has been met with strong sales and critical acclaim.
